⚠️ IN GIBRALTAR, YOU DRIVE ON THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD ⚠️
1. DRIVING SIDE - MOST IMPORTANT
- Vehicles in Gibraltar drive on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of the road, like Spain.
- You must keep to the RIGHT side of the road.
- Overtake other vehicles on their LEFT.
2. SPEED LIMITS
- National speed limit: 50 km/h in built-up areas unless signs show otherwise.
- Tunnel speed limit: 50 km/h maximum.
- Near schools: 30 km/h may apply where signed.
3. ROUNDABOUTS - CLOCKWISE
- Give way to traffic already on the roundabout coming from your LEFT.
- At roundabouts, you MUST circulate CLOCKWISE.
- Signal right when taking exits past 12 o'clock, then left after passing the exit before yours.
4. ROAD MARKINGS
- Double yellow lines: No waiting at any time.
- Single yellow line: No waiting during times shown on signs.
- Double white lines: No overtaking where solid line is nearest to you.
5. TRAFFIC SIGNS
- Red circle: Prohibitory - you must not do something.
- Blue circle: Mandatory - you must do something.
- Red triangle: Warning - hazard ahead.
- Red octagon: STOP - stop and give way at the line.
6. TUNNEL RULES
- Speed limit 50 km/h.
- No stopping except in emergency.
- Use dipped headlights.
- If you break down: switch on hazard lights, leave via emergency exit.
7. EMERGENCY VEHICLES
- Pull over safely to the RIGHT side of the road and let emergency vehicles pass.
- Do not panic or brake suddenly.
